Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Jishu Labs, Inc. ("Jishu Labs", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Kiku platform, including the Kiku IDE extensions, web dashboard, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

We take your privacy seriously. Kiku is designed from the ground up with a privacy-first architecture - your source code stays on your machine by default, and only metadata about patterns and structure is transmitted when using cloud features.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign up using a third-party service (such as GitHub), we receive your profile information from that service.

2.2 Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage telemetry including feature usage patterns, completion acceptance rates, and performance metrics. This data helps us improve the quality of code suggestions. You can opt out of telemetry in your IDE extension settings.

2.3 Code Metadata

Kiku analyzes your codebase to provide context-aware completions. For cloud-assisted features, we transmit structural metadata (file names, import graphs, type signatures) - never raw source code. On-premise deployments process everything locally with zero data transmission.

2.4 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers. We retain transaction IDs and billing history for accounting purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Kiku Service
  • To improve code suggestion quality and accuracy
  • To communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and abuse
  • To provide analytics and insights in your dashboard
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with third-party service providers who assist in operating our Service (e.g., cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics) under strict data processing agreements. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3), regular security audits, access controls, and monitoring. Our infrastructure is hosted on SOC 2 Type II certified providers. For enterprise customers, we offer on-premise deployment options for complete data sovereignty.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Usage data and analytics are retained for up to 24 months in anonymized form. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured format
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data
  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@jishulabs.com.

8. International Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We use Standard Contractual Clauses and other appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in compliance with GDPR and other applicable regulations.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use anonymous analytics to understand how our website is used. We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
